WHY VOTE FOR MARIE ROWLAND

My name is Marie Rowland and I’m running as the Nick Xenophon Team’s endorsed candidate for Warringah at this year’s Federal election. Inspired by Nick Xenophon’s values and principled approach coupled with my disappointment with a broken two party system based on self-interest, I decided to run to give an independent, accountable voice for Warringah. I am a soccer mum and therapist managing a counselling practice in Balgowlah where I have lived for 15 years.

WHAT MATTERS TO US

We have serious issues to focus on from mitigating climate change and switching to renewables as well as backing science and innovative technologies to advance local industries and businesses. We live in an ageing society so creating independent living and superior palliative care options is critical. The northern beaches is suffering from chronic mental health with drug and alcohol issues. We are seeing critical presentation from our young people who need support and inspiration through community programmes. We have issues to address and manage. My priority is to consult with and represent the concerns of my electorate, and not to advance any personal agenda of my own.

STABLE GOVERNMENT

For the last decade Labor and Coalition governments alike have been racked with internal leadership instability. The most important outcome our country needs from this election is a return to stable party leadership and more focussed and effective government. Electing NXT’s Marie Rowland in Warringah gives the best chance of stable government and good legislative outcomes should the Coalition win office. Nick Xenophon and NXT’s record has generally been one of support for any government initiatives that pass the fairness and common sense tests, regardless of which major party is in office. Warringah voters have a unique opportunity at this election to stand up for stable government.
